We Took Siena to see the ballet performance of The Snow Queen at BYU today. The Snow Queen is a story written by Hans Christian Anderson about a cold-hearted snow queen who freezes the heart and embitters the soul of a boy and takes him to Lapland as a prisoner in her snow castle. His friend Gerda embarks on a long and difficult journey, being derailed awhile by an enchantress and robbed by thieves, eventually finds her friend Kay in the Snow Queens ice castle in Lapland, and melts his heart with her warm tears, and brings him home.
The performance was beautiful. Siena tried to imitate some of the ballet moves, and despite her previously sulky and whiny mood, was able to completely enjoy herself.
