Stunks and Cutecumbers

Just a few Siena-isms to start the day off right :)
This morning, Siena said, "Mommy, the orange sun is dancing like a bird!" Who knew a 2-year old could write poetry?
She refers to skunks as "stunks"
and cucumbers as "cute-cumbers"
raccoon are "rat-coons"
polka dots are "polka-nuts" (We call her our little polka-nut because she has a little spot on her foot)
She likes to call mommy "snakey" (after daddy called her sneaky once)
She refers to her little "stister" as"cutie butt" as an abbreviation from daddy calling her "cutie button"

Sweet sisters

w

Our girls love to do everything together. They are best friends. They have slept in the same room since Tessa was 4 months old (she is a complete dream baby, and slept through the night at 6 weeks). They are pretty much inseparable. Yesterday, they even rode their bike together, with grandpa's help, of course (have I ever mentioned that he's the best?) Siena sneaks her "little stister" kisses whenever she can. So sweet!

Snow Angels

k

a
Siena has been talking about making snow angels for weeks now. She was so determined to make a snow angel last week, when all the snow was so old it had tuned into ice, that she went out in just her underwear. I warned her that it was really cold outside. But if you know Siena, you know that she is stubborn, if nothing else. Read: I thought I had an iron will until I met my daughter Siena.
Anyway, she went outside, basically naked. After about 30 seconds, she came knocking on the door, saying, "Mommy, it's cold! I want my boots." So we put her boots on, and off she went. 30 seconds later, she wanted her hat. She never did ask for a coat or pants!
Then when it snowed yesterday, she was finally able to go out and make real snow angels, fully clothed. And I was amazed at the great snow angels she made, with no help at all :)

Swimming in January

Siena has been asking to go swimming for a little while now, so I finally broke down and bought a little kiddie pool. Not a lot of room to move around, but she didn't complain(even though her face looks a bit pained in the picture). She really loved it when we went to visit Aunt Melissa in Cedar City last weekend and went to the new aquatic center down there (much like the indoor Lehi swimming pool).

New Years bowling

What better way to celebrate New Years than with bowling? We went with the parents and had a blast! It was Siena's first time, and she scored higher than I did (but I guess that's not really saying much!) She wanted to carry her 6-lb ball all by herself, of course. And she did a great job. Siena loved it and keeps asking to go again.
