Daddy's Beauty Session
Daddy's salon experience. He's got his elecronic device and really seems to be enjoying himself!
Overheard at daddy's back hair-plucking section:
Both girls: "Don't worry Daddy, Big boys don't cry!"
Siena: "Big boy! Good job dad, you're not crying!"
Tessa: "You're the best ever plucking Daddy!"
Siena: "Tessa, look at all these hairs over here!"
Tessa: "Whoa, we gotta pinch 'em all!"
Tessa:" You got hairs right here on your tickle pit too!"
Daddy: "No! Don't touch the hairs on my tickle pit!"
Both girls sang the whole time: "Big boys don't cry!"
Tessa: "Pinch, pinch!!"

Fishing Take 2
Thad took Siena fishing this morning. Her first success- catching a fish nearly bigger than her! She told her daddy, "I got one! I got one!" He thought, 'No, the hook's probably just stuck at the bottom of the lake. So he gave the pole a big yank, and it yanked back! She did, indeed catch a big one! It wasn't enough to pull it out, and take a picture and show everyone around, No. My girl wanted to take her fish for a "walk". So she put him back in the water (still attached) and walked around the lake, pulling him out for everyone to see, after bragging about the fish she just caught! She eventually let him go.
A little while later, a neighbor caught a fish, and she left her fishing pole to go inspect. Meanwhile, Thad was talking on his phone. He noticed Siena's pole heading into the water fast (another fish!) and jumped into the water to save it!.... to no avail. They came home wet and drenched. And Siena, with tears streaming down her face cried, "Mom, the fish swam away with my pole and he didn't even bring it back!!!" She was so distraught!! Luckily, now I know what to get her for her birthday coming up ;)

Springs Preserve
We had a great time at Springs Preserve today. For $60/yr for a whole family membership, I think it's an awesome deal!
A cool round rock that rotates around as the water underneath pushes it, giving the girls a ride, |
Reconstructed Native American dwellings |
At the childrens' play area |
I like this illusion the best. The only time in my pregnancy I might look tall and slender! |
The girls singing and pretending they're getting married |

Vegas loved Brazil
We went to the Vegas loves Brazil Festival, which was, honestly, over-priced, too crowded, with music too loud to have any kind of conversation with the person sitting right next to you. Thad and I had to text the whole time we were there! Food lines were an hour long (we only waited in tem because we had prepaid for food vouchers), and then the food was meagre, mediocre and absurdly expensive. NO pics of the event, since there were WAY to many ridiculously scantily-clad people casually walking around. They did have a couple of bounce houses that the girls enjoyed, and the best part was watching Tessa dance around with the Brazilian flag

4th haircut
Siena cut her hair. AGAIN!!! I think this is the 4th time in 6 month?? This time, I had to watch youtube videos to learn how to layer it to stil keep most of the length. She lopped off the bottom of her ponytail at the babysitters while I was at work- sneaky girl! So now she has an Asian girl haircut...
Notice the lobbed off pony on the right. I'm pretty sure the grumpy face is from being caught, not from being sad for cutting her hair off.. |
lots of layers |
pretty impressive how much length I was able to salvage, I think... |
All the hair in the trash. Notice the Godiva chocolate bar. That's what it took (and streams of tears and sobs from me! to get through the haircut!) |

Happy Birthday Thad!
Thad turned 29 again this year! We had a great party for him- sushi themed! I stayed up all night making fruishi for him - made my own fruit roll-ups from scratch; I dehydrated them from fresh strawberries, then rolled yummy things inside, like other fruits, rice crispy treats and nutella. The day of, I made about 20 sushi rolls! All with different yummy things inside, like crab, shredded cucumber, shredded carrots, avocado, asparagus, and such. I made 3 kinds of dessert- the fruishi, mango sticky rice (my favorite) and confetti cupcakes, as per Thad's request. We had our friends, the Farnsworths over, and had a great time!

I meant to get a pic of all of it before we started munching on it, but we couldn't help ourselves, lol! |
