Gone Fishin'

Thad took us all fishing at this really cool park where we saw lots of different kinds of birds (but sadly, no fish). The girls did, however get very attached to a different kind of creature that day- a worm (the bait). They named it Squirmy, and Tessa cried huge crocodile tears when she finally had to put Squirmy in the water, because it was time to go (and he was very dead at that point, from the outflowing of affection).

Tea Party

We had a little tea party today, inspired by Fancy Nancy.  We took some tips from Fancy Nancy, dressed up really fancy, and made lots of cute, fun finger foods! Delectable ("that's fancy for delicious!"). We all talking in Fancy British accents, and Tessa kept saying, "ooh la la!" just like Fancy Nancy, lol!

The girls loved it, and even helped clean everything up afterwards!

Asian Girls

I bought these cute little dresses for the girls when I was in China, and finally put them to good use today. The girls were awesome during the photo shoot, and were rewarded with a tea party afterwards :)

Siena needed a rest after smiling that whole time, so Tessa decided to give her a massage (which quickly turned into tickling, lol!)

Gilcrease Orchards

Saturday we went to pick fresh produce. At an orchard/farm. In Las Vegas! In February! We picked beets, turnips, kale, and spinach for dirt cheap (lol). The girls had an awesome time, and it turns out, Thad is our best produce picker! Next week, the snap peas should be ready! Making this a weekend tradition :)

Happy Valentines!

Aunt April came over to help us make cake pops and decorate sugar cookies! We all had a blast, and the cake pops turned out pretty awesome, I think, especially for our first try! (April's a seasoned pro though, so many thanks to her!)

The Dance

Our church sponsored a Valentines dance for couples this year. The first real dance my husband and I have EVER been to! It was so much fun to get dressed up and go out together! We discovered an amazing new Mediterranean restaurant- very reasonable prices. The food was delicious! And the best dance I've been to- it's so nice when you don't have to worry about who to dance with, lol!

Family Movie Night

We have instituted Fridays as our family movie nights. The girls are inseparable, and Tessa always brings Dora with her, lol!

Mom, I look like Dora!!

Siena chopped off the front right side of her hair a few months back. After promising her life away that she would never cut her hair again, she chopped the left side of the front of her hair off. I had to even it all up, and own fact that my kid has bangs.
Her first comment when she saw her reflection in the mirror?"Mom, I look like Dora!" She was horrified, lol!
